Loss

David Fischer Unmaker was my first encounter with LLNN and I was worried that their previous works might not pack the same punch... what a fool I've been.
Loss is short, and we should be grateful. This is soul-crushing in its heavyness. Imagine watching a gigantic orbital station collapse and crash down on earth, seemingly in slow motion: the annihilation of its impact all-encompassing and inevitable. It is the weight of such an expectation that turns Loss into an almost physical threat. Fascinating. Favorite track: Depths.
Jordan Vauvert

Jordan Vauvert Sombre, lourd, post-apocalyptique. Favorite track: Loss.

The weight of your expectations robbed me of my dreams As I sank to the depths you no longer felt a thing And the weight of your expectations robbed me of my sleep As I sank to the depths you turned your back on me And it's strange how it works. I was assigned as the bastard What used to be so welcoming, is cold and abandoned. Throw a rock and it will shatter the surface of our charade We both know that I won't make up for my mistakes And I guess you aren't the first or the last to see There's no future to be found with me You are free from my aimless dreams, to focus on the schedules and plans that doesn't have room for someone like me There's no us or we - There's no us, we or them And it took a while, and I've made my mistake But when I look into the mirror, I now accept what it reflects Do you?

about

Into the depths of space, into the land unknown.

LLNN have that same raw, vile, cold and crushingly destructive energy that I found so attractive as a teenager slowly getting involved with hardcore punk, that made me love bands like Rorschach, Groundwork, Neurosis, Absinthe, Unbroken or Breach.
